Roots and Branches: Celtic Origins of Cowboy Music

Michelle Cameron and Hank Cramer, a popular and well-known Northwest folk duo, will perform in concert focused on “Roots and Branches: Celtic Origins of Cowboy Music”.

Cameron and Cramer have performed together for nearly 20 years, since first meeting at Richland’s Tumbleweed Festival in September 2004.  Michelle Cameron is a gifted and classically trained cellist, who has held the first chair in the Mid-Columbia Symphony and performs regularly with the women’s trio Trillium 239.  Hank Cramer is a guitar-strumming traveling folksinger, with roots in Celtic, cowboy, and maritime music. He was the 2011 recipient of the Humanities Washington Award, presented to one performer a year for excellence in the arts. Together they have performed at nearly every historic site along the Oregon Trail, and taken their music to faraway destinations like Nova Scotia, Scotland, and Hawaii. 

Off stage, Michelle is a scientist affiliated with the Hanford complex.  Hank is a retired soldier and advocate for veterans’ issues.
