State and regional leaders from government, emerging industries, energy, technology, education, and training are invited to attend the Future Workforce Needs Clean Energy conference on October 17th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Columbia Basin College Gjerde Center.
Washington state’s emerging set of industries, known as clean energy or clean technology, will be showcased while presenters address future workforce development needs in these areas. Mike Lawrence, chair of the Mid-Columbia Energy Initiative, along with leaders from Pacific Northwest National Laboratories, WSU TC, RJ Lee Group, Inc., and Pacific Northwest Center of Excellence for Clean Energy will present on the full spectrum of clean energy—from developing new technologies to educating the next generation of workers.
Organizations and businesses from across the state will showcase the diversity of energy-related projects including: biomass, biofuels, small modular reactors, and smart grid.
