January 1, 2014, a new version of the GED® will be introduced. Examinees who start the current 2002 version will need to complete and pass all five exams before that date or start over with the new 2014 version GED®.
GED Testing at CBC
During 2013, the Assessment/Testing Center is transitioning to a computer-based (CBT) version of the current 2002 GED® tests and from paper-based tests (PBT).
- Beginning in June 2013, we will offer the CBT version.
- Anyone who has previously tested on paper, may continue with PBT through July 31, 2013, or may switch to CBT, after registering online. Your scores from PBT and CBT will be combined.
- The current plan is to cease PBT after July 2013 at CBC and expand the CBT test sessions during the remainder of 2013.
- See “Before GED® Testing” (below) for details.
