Excellence, winning, sportsmanship, perseverance, and dignity are all
associated with CBC's golf team. CBC golf has won 17 men's titles since
1965 and four women's titles since 1993, including the 2008
championship.
Dan Clifford was named Coach of the Year his first season with the
Hawks after leading the women's team to the NWAACC championship. That is
excellence; that is Columbia Basin Golf. It is a program that has sent
numerous players to the Pac-10, Big West, West Coast, and other Division
1 conferences.
Clifford, a native to the area, is a 1977
graduate of Richland High School and played college golf at Mira Costa
Junior College. He has been the Head Golf Professional of notable golf
courses including West Richland Municipal Golf Course, Othello Golf
Course, and most presently at Horn Rapids Golf Course.
"I can't wait to be part of a winning
program; I look forward to the challenges that await me as CBC's Head
Coach," Clifford said.
