Videos and DVDs provide a valuable contribution to the learning environment. The CBC video and DVD collection housed at the Library makes titles easily accessible to our students for in-library viewing and to our instructors for classroom use. They can be identified by title, series, or subject in the library catalog. The following describes our procedures for circulating videos and DVDs to CBC faculty:
- Please request videos and DVDs in advance of your show date to ensure their availability; be sure your request includes your name, the video title/s, and the date/s you will need them. You may make your request in person, by phone, via campus mail, or by email:
CBC Library Circulation, Mail Stop L3
Phone: 509-542-4458 or ext. 2458
Email: library@columbiabasin.edu
- Whenever instructors’ requests conflict, the library staff will assist in seeking a resolution. Instructors may be contacted and asked to return videos or DVDs if another instructor wishes to use them and showing dates do not conflict. If videos and DVDs are passed between instructors, please notify the Library so we can update our circulation records.
- All videos and DVDs will be checked out on the instructor’s library card. Generally they are checked out the day before they are scheduled to be shown and held for pick-up at the library. If you need them earlier, would prefer that we send them via campus mail, or wish to designate another person to pick them up, please include that information in your request.
- Videos are checked out to faculty for seven days. If they are needed longer than one week, please contact the circulation desk to request an extension; maximum checkout is two weeks. Instructors are asked to return videos and DVDs in a timely manner to provide other instructors and students the opportunity to use the material.
