Do I Qualify?
The Basic Food, Employment & Training (BFET) program is a partnership between CBC and the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) to offer educational and workforce training opportunities to students receiving Basic Food Assistance (food stamps).
You may be eligible for the BFET program if:
- You are currently receiving or are eligible to receive food stamps
- You are not receiving TANF benefits through DSHS*
- You are enrolled in a Professional Technical program of study
*Students receiving WokrFirst (TANF) cash, should seek assistance from CBC’s WorkFirst program rather than BFET.
Program benefits may include:
- Establishing and/or maintaining eligibility for food stamps while attending school
- Eligibility for DSHS’ Child Care Subsidy Program
- Assistance with Academic/Career planning
- Referral to on-campus and off-campus resources
- Tuition and other support assistance as funds become available
