The Third Annual Nuclear Technology Open House & Career Fair will be held at 5:30 p.m. on March 18 in the Center for Career and Technical Education (CCTE) on CBC’s Pasco campus.
The open house is a free event for prospective students and the community to gain insight into the nuclear energy industry as well as learn how CBC’s Nuclear Technology (NT) program trains students to become part of tomorrow’s nuclear workforce.
Attendees will learn about the NT program, admission requirements, and application process. NT classrooms and lab will be accessible to view and manipulate equipment used in this technical degree program. Hands-on activities, a nuclear industry exhibit, and two 15-minute sessions focusing on the transferability of skills and the exciting life of a traveling radiation protection technician will also be available. Local nuclear industry representatives will also be on hand to discuss career and internship opportunities.
Applications for entrance into the fall 2013 Nuclear Technology program are currently being accepted through April 15.
All are invited. High school students are encouraged to register online at: columbiabasin.edu/ntopenhouse to receive a free goodie bag.
