Jean Ryckman was named the 2002 CBC Outstanding Alumna. Ryckman is
currently the Director of Customer Service and Sales for the Franklin PUD.
Ryckman graduated with honors from CBC in 1977 with a degree in Engineering
Technology. She has worked in different engineering positions in her 22 years
with the PUD prior to becoming Public Information Officer and now most recently
Director of Customer Service and Sales.
Working as a paralegal, Ryckman decided it was time to go back to school in
1975 and enrolled in the Engineering Technology program at CBC. Following her
graduation, she worked as an engineering technician for a private electrical
consulting firm before joining the PUD.
Outside of her profession, Ryckman is actively involved in the community. She
has served on the Pasco School Board since 1997 and was elected President of the
board in 1999. She has also chaired the CBC Engineering Technology Advisory
Committee. Ryckman has served on numerous high-profile community organizations
and campaigns. She is active in the Pasco-Kennewick Rotary Club, Greater Pasco
Area Chamber of Commerce, and First Night Tri-Cities.
