Marsha Halverson
received her associate degree from CBC in 1970 and her
Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Washington State University
in 1972. Her family is one of the original homesteaders in this area and for the
past 35 years she has taught in elementary schools in the Pasco school
district. In 1998, Halverson was selected as Southeastern Washington Teacher of the
Year. She has served as the President of the Teacher's Union, Pasco Association
Educator, and Washington Education Association Southeast. Halverson began the family
tradition of attending CBC, as many of her siblings, nieces, and nephews have
since attended the College. She credits the College for giving her the
opportunity to get an education that lifted her up to reach her dreams.
