What is ASCBC?
The Associated Students of Columbia Basin College (ASCBC) are thrilled to have you as a member of our student community! If you are currently registered for classes here at CBC, you are automatically a member of ASCBC and will have opportunities to be part of exciting events and activities. Your student government officers are available to help you during your college experience. Stop by our office (upstairs in the HUB) to get information about upcoming student events or learn about Clubs or Leadership Council. We want to make sure that you get the most out of your college experience.

What are ASCBC Student Clubs?
The purpose of student clubs at CBC is to provide opportunities for the enhancement of academic, cultural, social and recreational aspects of student life through participation in group programs and activities. These groups allow students with common interests to come together and share their talents and knowledge with the greater student community. Every CBC student has the opportunity to become involved! Clubs are open to ALL students who are enrolled in at least one credit or more!
Getting involved
We are always looking for dedicated students to run for Executive Council and/or apply for Service and Activities Board (SAB). If you want to gain leadership experience, earn money, build your resume and have fun, this is a great opportunity for you!
The ASCBC President, Vice President, and Secretary of Legislative Affairs are not only student officers but also paid CBC student employees. As a collective, these positions are called Executive Council. Executive Council members are paid minimum wage, up to 19 hours per week.
To join the Executive Council, you can apply through the student employment website when the positions post in April of each year. Once we determine that you meet all the minimum qualifications, we will contact you. Positions are filled via a selection or election process.

Also, be sure to stop by one of our Club Rush events! Club Rush happens twice per year, during the beginning of fall and winter quarters. At Club Rush, you'll have the opportunity to connect with the students and advisors directly involved with our current clubs and learn all about the club's purpose and goals (oh, and there's always free food and prizes!).
Service and Activity (S&A) Fees are for the purpose of supporting student activities
and programs. The boards of trustees of the state’s colleges and universities have
the express and exclusive authority to determine what constitutes bona fide student
activities. In its ordinary and usual meaning, “student activities” refers to any
college/university co-curricular or extra-curricular activity in which students participate
in the furtherance of their education.
ASCBC has a strong voice in how these fees are allocated and spent. Once the S&A budget
has been recommended by ASCBC and approved by the College’s Board of Trustees, the
College has the responsibility to ensure that state and institutional regulations
and guidelines are followed.
Per RCW 28B.15.045, the S&A budget for the current year, along with the S&A expenditures from the previous year, must be posted publicly by September 30 of each year.
Current ASCBC Clubs
CBC’s ASL Club fosters a spirit of inclusion, bringing together deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing students. The group provides ASL modeling from native language users and raises awareness of the deaf community. All CBC students are welcome to learn and engage with the ASL club no matter what level of understanding of ASL that they may or may not have already. Club meetings are every Thursday from 4-5pm over Zoom. Please contact either Club Advisor for the Zoom meeting link.

The ASN Club is a supportive, resourceful and integrative network of nursing students that promotes excellence, mentorship and community service. The ASN Club’s goal is to prepare nursing students for professional responsibilities.

The mission of the CyberHawks shall be to foster an environment of learning cybersecurity concepts and skills, to create a community of like-minded individuals with high ethical standards, and to prepare members for employment in cybersecurity.

DECA serves to help students develop professional skills through competition, community building, and leadership. Students come together to train in the fields of marketing, business finance, hospitality, and technology by developing critical thinking and essential skills high in demand for employers of recent graduates. Through intercollegiate competition, students have the opportunity to represent CBC at regional and national events.

The purpose of Columbia Basin College Student Dental Hygienists' Association is to promote the profession of dental hygiene and to foster leadership, networking, mentoring, and community among dental hygiene students, ADHA/WSDHA, faculty and staff.

We are a quirky group of individuals who are passionate about environmental issues that surround us.
Fun stuff includes:

All this, while making friends and having a ton of green-themed fun!

Join Game Club for chill game nights, laid-back tournaments, and some serious fun on campus. Meet awesome people, game with awesome people and have a blast with awesome people. Whether you're into card games, board games, TTRPG sessions (like Dungeons & Dragons), or play VR with us. ASCBC Game Room is open and we've got Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and more – so come hang out!

To provide educational resources for students and the general public to help make bikes part of more people's lives. To provide safe and adventurous ride opportunities for students to ride together. To provide cycling equipment for all students to meet their goals. To provide training opportunities for students that want to race and compete on a collegiate level. The Hockey Club provides CBC students with opportunities to practice and compete as a college team against other regional hockey clubs.

Our goal is to help you build a healthy mindset, body, and meaningful relationships through motivational meetings, group lifts, and friendly weightlifting competitions. Ultimately, we are an educational and social lifting club welcoming newcomers and veteran lifters alike.

Our Club's goal is to explore Japanese culture in a historical lens as well as exploring modern Japanese culture. our clubs’ interests are broad whether it’s exploring the ancient history of the samurai or exploring Japanese anime and manga and its rise in the united states, wherever your interest in Japanese culture lies the Japanese culture club is the best way to explore it.

The purpose of Kairos Christian Club is to build relationships and community through our shared love of Jesus Christ, and to see His gospel shared on CBC's campus.

The LDSSA Club encourages and supports members of the LDSSA in achieving their academic goals and maintaining a balanced life while on campus, to become an influence for good by participating in activities and service on campus and in the community, and to provide students with meaningful service opportunities and social and religious activities that are consistent with the standards of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

LULAC provides educational and service-learning opportunities to connect with the Latino community, celebrate diversity, develop civic leadership, and gain greater political awareness. LULAC’s mission is to advance the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, housing, health, and civil rights of the Hispanic population. Club meetings are every Wednesdays from 12pm in SWL 202.

Phi Theta Kappa is a national honor society founded in 1918 that promotes collaborative opportunities and unique programs for students to develop academic success and leadership skills.

PAS gives students a venue to compete and be members of state and national PAS organizations and to engage in activities that promote agriculture on campus and in the community.

It is a place for the students in the Project Management Program at CBC to create community. This club is held in conjunction with the Project Management Institute Columbia River Basin Chapter meetings. Students in this club get the opportunity to have a professional mentor, have marketing/face time with local business hiring managers, and get help with interviews and resumes. The student body President for this club has a seat on the PMI CRB Chapter Board for the entire school year.

To promote the field and profession of surgical technology within the community through outreach, informational events, legislative initiative support, attendance at conferences related to surgical patient care, and development of a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration among students to provide for quality patient care.

To provide opportunities for CBC students to participate in competitive speaking at forensic tournaments in the Pacific Northwest. Students will be encouraged to continue public speaking in individual events and in debates.

SQUAD creates a safe space where everyone can be themselves without judgement and is a strong community on campus that promotes inclusivity and the needs of LGBT+ students.

Exploring technology. The development of new upcoming technologies, and the application of historical technology. Computers, and electricity are a technology just as much as simple machines like levers, wheels, and pulleys are.
